Welcome to Virginia Perio, specialist in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.

Virginia Perio has been a part of, and served the Southern Virginian communities for many years. We are conveniently located in Chesterfield. Our goal is to work closely with you and your dentist to achieve the best oral health and the most favorable dental experience.

Dr. James Slagle is a board certified specialist in periodontics, who has been practicing in Chesterfield, Virginia since 1983. He has extensive experience in the treatment of periodontal disease, the placement of dental implants, soft tissue grafting, minor oral surgery, and treatment of myofacial pain.

Dr. Slagle is a native of southside Virginia and received his undergraduate degree from Atlantic Christian College in North Carolina where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and his postgraduate training in Periodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. He presently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Periodontics at the School of Dentistry in the Department of Periodontics.

Dr. Slagle is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Board of Periodontology. He is past president of the Virginia Society of Periodontists and is a member of the Nottoway Study Club and the Metropolitan Academy of Dentistry.

As a long time resident of the area, Dr. Slagle is dedicated to serving the dental needs of Southside Virginia.
